If you have been following us for awhile, you know we LOVE playing around with paper bags. Today's Freebie Friday is a paper bag card.
Gather you supplies: lunch bag, card stock, patterned paper, 2 brads and ribbon
Score your bag starting with the open end at 4-1/8" and 8-1/2". For our lunch bag, the bottom piece left over is about 1-3/4" wide. Measure in about 1-1/2" on both side to the score line. Cut these pieces off of the bottom of the bag into a flap.
Fold over and see how much flap you have that will show on the front of the card. You can fold under more if you want the flap smaller. Add to brads centered towards the bottom edge. These brads will "catch" on the ribbon and help hold the card closed.
The front of our card has a 4" x 4-3/4" piece of Early Espresso card stock layered with a 3-7/8" x 4-5/8" piece of patterned paper. We added some quilted Early Espresso ribbon - long enough to fold over the back edges....about 5-1/2". We also used a ticket corner punch on all four corners.
Here is what it looks like attached to the front of the paper bag card.
We added a 4-1/8" x 5-1/8" piece of patterned paper to the inside. This makes a great layer for an inside sentiment or stamped image.
We added a Thanksgiving sentiment to the front. It has faux stitching around the edges and is popped up on the front.
These are fun to make for anytime you want something a little unique. Scroll down to see a winter/Christmas idea.
How cute is this snowman idea. Notice the twill ribbon has been stapled on the front for a more rustic idea. The snowman head has been placed on a scrap piece of paper sack.
