Just in time for the holidays, this Freebie Friday project is a great box that is perfect for giving your homemade goodies, small gifts or even just candy.
Gather your supplies: Card stock, patterned paper, stamps, ink, punches
Score your 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock - we used Cherry Cobbler from Stampin' Up! See the score and cut charts at the bottom of this post.
Cut on all the solid lines and crease all score lines well with a bone folder. The cut lines are shown in a printable chart at the end of this post.
If you are going to add patterned paper, do so before you glue the box together. You can use the cut diagonal piece as a pattern for this piece. We used retired holiday paper.
We only used patterned paper on the two "criss cross" pieces but of course, you can add more.
Here is what it looks like before we glue the box together.
Add glue to the two small "flaps" first.
Then add glue to the box sides.
You can then fold over the criss cross or diagonal pieces over the front. Glue the inner diagonal piece first and then the remaining diagonal piece.
You can embellish any way you want but we added a 1" Old Olive belly band. Notice the part that laps over we put in the front. It is hidden with the layered piece we added that keeps even the back looking finished.
We popped up our sentiment...it is now ready to fill.
We added some fun holiday Hershey kisses in a cello bag tied with ribbon.
Have fun with this box. Thanks for stopping and have a safe weekend. We hope you all are getting ready for a fun-filled Thanksgiving holiday. Two Paper Divas - Melissa and Gayla
