Every year, well almost every year, on Thanksgiving after we eat and everything is all cleaned up, the girls sit down to make a fun little project that I bring. Well, this year I decided that we would make these vintage ornaments (I'm sure you've seen them all over the net :) using some old music papers that I picked up at a second hand store.
The papers are torn in small strips and then glued to either plastic or glass ornaments. We used both the plain Mod Podge and the "Sparkle" Mod Podge. You just keep layering until the entire ornament is covered. It's a little messy but look what you get for it! While the ornament is still damp you can sprinkle a little more glitter on it. In the older vintage looking one, we used a champagne-colored glitter.
The sentiment on the tag is from the Christmas Blessing set in the Holiday store on Paper Fashions. We sponged the tag, added a little rhinestone bling and tied it off with a bell and cord. Make sure the ornament is dry before tying on your tag. :)
I hope you will give these a try. They don't take too long and look wonderful on the tree or even in a bowl on a table.
Have a great rest of the week!
Melissa
