We made another sample using this tutorial from a couple of years ago.  Melissa has a class coming up and we love sharing other ideas with tutorials so you get plenty of ideas.

How cute is the front of this album.  We used another stamp from My Favorite Things just like we did on the original.  Please know that isn't necessary....it just happened!!

Happy Earth Day!

It is that one day of the year that we try to share a project that reuse or recycles something meant for something else.  Of course, we really like creating new purposes for old items year round.  Many of you have seen us do many things with old Altoid Tins but we wanted to share this tin that will be made in a future class at Remember This, here locally.

This album starts with an empty Altoid tin.

You can paint or cover the lid with card stock or patterned paper.  From there, the ideas a limitless.  Below is a look at the lid recreated.

Just so you know that we really like all the old vintage things as well as repurposing items, notice the small box/tray that the album is sitting in.  Tim made this using an old vintage yard stick.

Lots of sponging, embellishments and vintage-looking paper used to create this one-of-a-kind keepsake album.  As we have mentioned, if you are local, call Remember This to save a spot in this class on May 25th.  Not only will you put together the album but you will learn how to use ice resin....very popular right now.

Freebie Friday - Box in a Bag

This week's Freebie Friday has been around awhile but we are starting to realize there are so many newbies that we need to share some of the "old" stuff.  

This tutorial comes just in time to make some Easter goodie bags.  These would be really cute full of Easter grass and candy.

 

This bag was made with fun patterned paper and embellished with seam binding ribbon and punches.  Of course, you can create your own style just by changing papers and embellishments.

Freebie Friday - Nugget Purse

We have actually made these purses a bunch but it seems to be a new thing for some of you.  So, today we are giving you printer-friendly copy so that you can have directions and measurements along with a diagram.

These little purses are so much fun for a girl's birthday party, bridal shower, party favors, etc.  You could even change the look and make them look like diaper bags.

You can see from the photo above, that two nuggets fit perfectly in this purse.  You can embellish the front of these with as much or as little as you desire.  This one has lots of fun ribbon, pearls and bling.

More Candy Hearts

We shared a project last week that Patti made using our conversation heart clear stamp and here is another.   This cute box can hold a gift card or Ghiradelli chocolate.

As Patti did on the previous project, she stamped these hearts on vanilla and then decorated them herself with more stripes and polka dots.  This heart from the Mason Jar Accessories #2 is versatile as you can stamp it on patterned paper, colored card stock or white and decorate yourself.

Notice the ribbon on the front is just an embellishment and not a closure.  She popped up the banner of hearts allowing for the flap to slide under to hold this box closed....fun!

Freebie Friday - Candy Box

With Valentine's Day just around the corner - actually, next week; we definitely think "chocolate."  How cute is this box with fun patterned paper, hearts and a felt flower.

These eight nuggets fit perfectly in this candy box.  Of course, there are a few other things you could fit in here as well but we LOVE nuggets.

Happy "Heart" Day

How cute is this little "box" treat holder.  Patti, a design team member, made this using the heart stamp from the Mason Jar Accessories #2 set.

She used the Two Tag die from Stampin' Up!  The hearts were stamped in black and colored.  Notice she created her own stripes and polka dotted hearts.  The top is tied together with polka dot ribbon.

It is hard to tell the size of this container but it would hold the small junior sized candy bars...like you give out at Halloween.  Of course, you could fill it with Pixie Stix, licorice sticks or small cello bags of fun candy.

"Love" In the Bag, Too!

We love our In the Bag, Too! tutorial and today we are sharing another idea using this fun tutorial.  It is all decked out for Valentine's Day but how great would this be for a wedding or engagement celebration.

Freebie Friday - Christmas Tree

We loved the "stacked" pumpkin project so much that we decided to stack the accordion medallions to create trees. If you need the directions to create the accordion medallions, please click here.

Be sure to look to the end for a vintage-look cream tree.

 

Of course, the number of medallions you need will depend on how tall you want to make your tree.  This tree is about 7-8 inches tall. 

Here are the sizes we used for each medallion - 3/4", 1", 1-1/8", 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" widths and they all are 12" long.  The tree trunks are spools.  You can either paint, stain or glitter the bases.

Create all your medallions so that you can stack and glue all of them.  We used a hot glue gun just as we did on the pumpkin.

Here is a close-up of the top of the tree.  The bow is made of red seam binding and embellished with rusted bells, punched greenery and a small bird.

Look at how an all cream or white tree turned out.  The top was made with white seam binding ribbon, tinsel and a glittered star.  All the edges were sponged and some glitter was added.
