Easter Fun!

Inspiration from Pinterest, this fun edible Easter basket was made for that special someone or someones.

This basket is made with four Reese's eggs but you can use any flavor.  They are attached on the ends with a hot glue gun. The bottom is a 4" square piece of card stock.  The handle is another piece of card stock and this one was punched with a border punch.

You just need to fill it with grass and candy.  How cute would these be for May Day.  We are thinking we will have to look around and see what other candy would work to create a basket.

It's a Jelly Bean Easter!

We have another fun "jar-full" card to share with you.  Easter is this weekend and what says Easter more than jelly beans.

This card is made with our Jelly Bean jar image.  It is a full size card.  The image was printed on white card stock on the right side so that we could fold the card stock along the jar line to create an actual card.  We printed another so we could color, cut and pop up some of the jelly beans.  All the jelly beans were colored with Copic markers to represent the original jelly bean colors....except for black and white:)

The inside sentiment is from our Easter Fun set.  It was printed on white and layered on pink.

Freebie Friday - Easter "carrots"

We have definitely been inspired to re-create this fun "carrot" favor box from several we saw on Pinterest.  It has been years since we made the "old" sour cream containers.  These are made the same way but with a twist.

So, for those of you who have never made these quick and easy "treat" boxes.  These would be adorable at the Easter table or for class room favors.

Gather your supplies:  Card stock, patterned paper or card stock vellum, crimper, adhesive

We made two - one with SU! pumpkin patterned paper and one from card stock vellum.  The size we made these is 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  If you do not have colored vellum, you can do like we did.  We got out the brayer and an ink pad.  Once colored, we then ran it through a polka dot embossing folder.  We used SU! Wild Wasabi for the carrot tops.  These were about 2-1/2" long and we free-hand cut them to not be too uniform.

We used Sticky Strip to hold our carrots together.  Run a strip down one of the 4-1/4" sides - on the front side.

 

Also, run a piece down each of the 5-1/2" sides leaving a small gap on the ends as they will be rolled together and you won't be able to peel off the tape as easily.  These two should be done on the "wrong" side.

Remove the red coating and attach to the other side creating a "tube."

Remove the red coating and squeeze one end together. 

 Next run it through the crimper creating the ends just like the restaurant sour cream containers.

Add the green strips to the other end - however many you want.  We did try to keep the strips more towards the center as we thought that was a little more realistic but that is all personal preference.  We tried two different ways of doing this and found they both work.  You can crimp the small pieces and then add them to the top and then crimp the top OR you can add the uncrimped strips and then run the crimper through the top and the green strips at the same time.   If you are going to fill these with goodies, do so BEFORE you seal the top.

We added a small sentiment with pop dots.

We did do a little "fluffing" and a little more trimming and shredding.  Make them to suit you.  We hope you make some of these for your Easter holiday.

A pink and white Easter!

Another card from Gayla's card class....the idea was seen on a website somewhere...maybe Nancy Riley.  It has been forever since we actually took markers directly to the stamp.  It isn't something we do much any more.  This card works nice for Easter but there is nothing about it that says it needs to be for Easter!

This card is made with Pretty in Pink and white card stock.  The stamp set is Pocket Silhouettes and they are colored with Pretty in Pink and Pear Pizzazz markers.  The ribbon is Pretty in Pink 5/8" satin ribbon.

Bunny in the Hole!

We aren't sure who originally came up with this idea but we have seen several versions of it since.  Just the front of this card is a cute idea but........

 

....look at the inside!

Such a fun and cute idea for Easter.  The bunny - front and back - is all made out from punches.  The card base is Kraft and Chocolate Chip.  The front has been embossed with a embossing folder to look like tree bark.  The sentiment is popped up and a small pink and white baker's twine bow was added.

Easter S'Mores?

How cute are these?  You don't usually think of s'mores as an Easter treat.  How wrong could we be!

 

These S'more kits have graham crackers, chocolate bars and Easter Peeps for the marshmallows.  We melted the Peeps in the microwave and they became nice and gooey.  We used our Easter Bingo cards and the S'more set to create a tag to hang from the cello bag.

The cello bag holds enough "supplies" to make two s'mores.  What a great favor bag for an Easter party, an Easter basket or your Easter table place settings.  We used the pink bunnies but there are several colors of bunnies and chicks....pick your favorite.

In Your Easter Bonnet.......

Freebie Friday - Free Pattern!

Today's Freebie Friday arrives in plenty of time for Easter.  We are sharing the pattern for this fun egg-shaped Easter basket.

This basket was made without a handle.  Cute flowered and plaid patterned paper, baker's twine and a flower embellishment really make this a fun basket.

 

This is the same egg-shaped basket but with a card stock handle added.  This basket was made from the same plaid paper from above.  It has been embellished with a lacey trim, ribbon and decorative stick pins.  The handle is card stock and ribbon.

You can see that you can use any kind of card stock, patterned paper or even stamped images to change the look for these Easter baskets.  Lots and lots of embellishments can be used to make this even more fun.
